WHAT'S NEW

On behalf of BC/Yukon Command, Fenety Marketing Company is managing the annual fundraising telephone appeal to support the free publication of the "Military Services Recognition Book".  The 2010 fundraising campaign commences in January and concludes in June and your continued support is greatly appreciated.

The Legion Foundation is hosting it's inaugural fundraising event in honour of the 65th anniversaries of the liberation of The Netherlands and Victory in Europe, ending the Second World War.  This auspicious commemorative event will be held Friday, April 23, 2010 at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre, 1088 Burrard Street.

The horrific memories from the ravages of war resonate in the minds of those who served in the cause of peace.  Trauma related stress is real!  This ailment must be sensitively treated, not only for the individual but also for the loved ones. The Veterans Transition Program is specifically designed to care for these invisible wounds.

BCAA is offering Legion Branches an opportunity to win a $5,000 Grant to support a project designed to attract and retain new Legion Members.  The deadline for Legion Branch submissions is  February 1st , 2010.

Williams Lake Legion Branch #139 and Cariboo Zone Commander, Vivian MacNeil, organized  a very special family presentation of a Spinoza Bear to the Schultz family whose father is battling cancer and in palliative care.  

Princess Mary's Own Canadian Scottish Regiment will tour Vancouver Island
during the months of January and February 2010. 

The BC/Yukon Command Membership Committee and Shaw for Business have partnered to offer the Shaw SOHO Digital Phone business package to the 156 Legion Branches.
