Service Officers of the Legion Service Bureau Network provide counselling assistance and representational services free of charge, to Legion members and non-members alike. These services and representation are mandated through  legislation.

Service Officers help claimants, veterans, widows and dependants complete application forms for disability pensions as well as other benefits offered by Veterans Affairs Canada.  The Service Officers will also represent your interests in any dealings with Veterans Affairs Canada and/or the Veterans Review and Appeal Board in claiming benefits under the Pension Act or the New Veterans Charter.

The New Veterans Charter includes programs and services which assist in the transition from military to civiian life including such things as: retraining; rehabilitation; job placement assistance and group health insurance.  In addition to disability and financial benefits, Legion Service Officers strive to assist all veterans, widows and  dependants in meeting their needs.  This includes benevolent assistance from the Poppy Fund for all ex-service personnel in financial need.

BC/Yukon Command also offers a unique professional counselling program for trauma-related stress suffered by veterans and ex-service personnel of the Canadian Forces.  The Canadian Military and Veterans Transition Program is unique to British Columbia and is offered free of charge.  The program is offered through the University of British Columbia and the University of Victoria and sessions can be planned wherever the need is greatest.
