INTRODUCTION
The Legion throughout BC/Yukon Command works in partnership with the Military Family Resources Centres, to provide information, advocacy and assistance for members of the Canadian Forces (CF) and their families. Professionally trained Legion Service Officers regularly visit the various (CF) Bases, sharing information and arranging appropriate referral services. The Legion’s longstanding tradition of supporting and assisting Canadian Forces members and their families, continues to be a vital aspect of BC/Yukon Command’s Military support programs. Military Family Resource Centres are located in the Lower Mainland, Esquimalt and Comox.
PROJECT EMBERS
Project Embers is a specialized program designed to support spouses, partners and families of Canadian Forces members, offered by the Military Family Resources Centre (MFRC) Mainland BC and supported by Legion Branches and Ladies Auxiliaries within BC/Yukon Command.
Embers Intervention Program – is a free counseling service for individuals requiring emotional support.
- Ask an Expert – is an online discussion with noted experts on topics identified by participants and tailored to meet the unique needs of military personnel.
- Embers Fact Sheets – is an online information site with a full range of informative fact sheets of interest to military life.
- Embers Information & Referral Service – provides answers to questions about community and government service agencies, Federal and Provincial.
- Embers Coaching Program – is an online training program for individuals who provide community/service support for others.
- Embers Workshops – are online workshops on topics and issues relevant to military life.
