INTRODUCTION
The Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliaries of the West Kootenay Zone, BC/Yukon Command initiated a project to let our Canadian Forces know they are not alone. Blankets and quilts, often with Canadian motif, are sewn by volunteers and members of the Ladies Auxiliaries. One Hundred and three “Soldiers’ Blankets of Hope” were donated to injured Canadians in care at military hospitals in Landstuhl, Germany. The Ladies Auxiliary of the West Kootenay have encouraged other Ladies Auxiliaries throughout the Command to become involved and this has now become a Provincial program.
